Composer, conductor and jazz pianist Milan Svoboda, a major figure of the Czech and international jazz scenes, releases a new CD by his quartet entitled Pozdní sběr (Late Harvest).
The album brings six of his new compositions in Milan’s distinctive hand, piano solos both fierce and meditative, and outstanding performances by his three bandmates: saxophonist Milan Krajíc, electric bassist Filip Spálený and drummer Ivan Audes.
Milan Svoboda is one of the most striking personalities of Czech jazz. He has recorded more than twenty albums with Czech and international musicians, written a great deal of theatre and film music and, not least, teaches at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. With his ensembles he performs in jazz clubs and at festivals around the world.
