The jazz quintet Inner Spaces was founded in 2009 at the Jazz Academy in Katowice, Poland, where all the band’s members were studying at the time. Inner Spaces focus on performing original compositions in which the influences of contemporary Polish, Czech and Scandinavian jazz can be heard. The band plays regularly on the Czech and Polish scenes and has also appeared at festivals in London, Edinburgh, Paris, Vienna, Graz and other European cities.
Inner Spaces have three albums to their name. The eponymous debut was released in 2010 in cooperation with the Polish magazine Jazz Forum. The second record, Light Year, made with guitarist David Dorůžka, won the Jazz Anděl award in 2013. The band now presents the repertoire of its third album, this time released by Amplión.
