Perfect Sphere, the album by Los Quemados, presents the mature and perfectly attuned sound of this long-established, stable band. The music sits on the border between jazz, funk and other influences, which merge naturally into a compact, stylistically balanced whole: energetic, yet cultivated and accessible to the listener.
The main composer is bassist Filip Spálený, whose melodically distinctive electric bass often takes on the role of carrying the theme. Saxophonist Jakub Doležal also plays an important part; his natural melodic delivery shapes the character of many pieces. The band is completed by keyboardist Jan Bálek and drummer Petr Mikeš. Together they create a cohesive sound in which the individual compositional voices organically merge into a single musical space.
